The founder’s perspective

Born from lived experience—and a duty to act.

Dr Durckheim Blessing was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, studied medicine in Europe, and undertook his Medical and Radiation Oncology residency training in Sweden. His work in oncology showed him what becomes possible when a health system invests consistently in early diagnosis, skilled teams and safe treatment.

Durckheim AB was established to connect that experience with African national ambition—not by transferring one health system unchanged, but by adapting quality principles to local realities and strengthening the capability of national institutions.

“Our work is complete only when the country can lead, teach and sustain the system itself.”

How we conduct our work

Four commitments that guide every engagement.

01

Clinical integrity

Recommendations begin with patient safety, evidence and realistic service readiness.

02

Institutional respect

National authorities and local clinical leaders remain central to every decision.

03

Transparent advice

Assumptions, limitations, risks and potential conflicts of interest are made explicit.

04

Knowledge and capability transfer

Success means that knowledge, leadership and operating capability remain within the country.

Built for institutional collaboration.
